Is this really NY ?

Left the city and headed east onto long island.  Its a place full of lush openness, farms and wineries.  Truly reminds you of Sonoma county in CA.  Long way from the craziness a few hundred miles to the west.

Ferried north up to New London CT

Horses, tolls, and people... oh my

New York, New York.    Where the tourists are prevalent and tolls are a plenty.  Definitely got our share of both.  Between the millions in Times square (ok maybe hundreds of thousands) and a world record $26 toll (among others) to cross what was relatively a tiny bridge we definitely got the taste of the big apple.

But manhattan was nice.  Its funny you tend to get intimidated by Manhattan... but its alot smaller than people lead to you believe.  Subways are convenient but not the most needed thing if your not in a hurry and don't mind walking a bit.

Also saw my family.  Great seeing Grandma,  my uncle and aunt.  Been way too long.  Truly enjoyed seeing some of my dad's looks and mannerisms throughout my Grandma and Uncle.  Made me smile :)

Oh yeah and horses.  Love those horses.... didn't win... but love those horses..

Got to see my family too.  Been a damn long time but great my Grandma Bauer, uncle and aunt.  Real kind folks :)  And grandma can even pick some horses (although i didn't take her pick for the belmont...duh!).
